What is the PCAN (and who can benefit from it)?

Have you heard about the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP)? To help SMEs optimize their online presence, the Canadian government has established this program, which may allow you to benefit from a grant. The CDAP is divided into two parts: Stream 1, Develop your business activities online and Stream 2, Improve your business technologies . In this article, we will explain what each strand consists of, what the criteria are for participating and, above all, how we can help you achieve your goals!
Part 1 of the PCAN: the implementation of digital actions
For this first part of the PCAN, the objective is to adopt the recommendations and good practices raised during the strategic part of part 2.
Here, we're talking about digital transformation to have the greatest possible impact online. We proceed in two stages:
First, we look at existing channels and see how we can improve them. We can also create new opportunities in sectors where you weren't already present.
And for the second step, we focus on strategies and content creation adapted to all your channels.
Some examples of what can be done:
- Finding a more suitable eCommerce platform for your company
- Implement an SEO strategy and optimize your existing content
- Create content adapted to each platform and each target
- Analyze and improve the customer journey on your site
For whom:
- Your company has already participated in phase 2 of the Canadian Digital Adoption Program
- Your business is for-profit (this includes for-profit social enterprises and cooperatives);
- Your business is registered or incorporated;
- You are in direct contact with consumers (sale of goods or services);
- You have at least one employee (other than the owner) OR at least $30,000 in annual income in the most recent tax year;
- You commit to maintaining the digital adoption strategy for six months;
- You agree to participate in follow-up surveys, to share data regarding the experience, and to have your company's name published as a funding recipient.
Grant amount: $2,400 (maximum value)

Section 2 of the PCAN: a consulting mission objective
Part 2 of the PCAN is a crucial step for any company that wants to make its presence felt online. It involves defining communication objectives, identifying different target audiences, and developing an effective communication strategy. We conduct a comprehensive strategic audit that includes analyzing the company's external and internal environments, as well as its strategic direction.
Basically, it's like laying out the basics of your online presence and making recommendations on what needs to be improved.
For whom:
- Your business is registered or incorporated;
- You are in direct contact with consumers (sale of goods or services);
- You have at least one employee (other than the owner) OR at least $30,000 in annual income in the most recent tax year;
- You commit to maintaining the digital adoption strategy for six months;
- You agree to participate in follow-up surveys, to share data regarding the experience, and to have your company's name published as a funding recipient.
Grant Amount: $15,000 (maximum value) + interest-free loan of up to $100,000
