Brief
Unifying a network of 35 franchisees under a single digital platform
Flordeco is a growing Quebec company specializing in the sale of flooring, ceramic tile and related home products. Backed by a network of more than 35 franchisees across the province, the brand also relies on a dynamic head office that supports its partners through marketing initiatives, advanced technology tools and a clear growth vision.
Aware of shifting buying habits in the home renovation space, Flordeco undertook a strategic digital transformation to strengthen its online presence. This transformation included a full migration from Joomla to Shopify, aimed at better serving customers both in-store and online, and offering a modern, intuitive, high-performing platform.
The pandemic, combined with renewed enthusiasm for home renovation projects, accelerated demand for a hybrid shopping experience where customers want to check local inventory, get personalized advice and shop from the comfort of home. Flordeco recognized this growth opportunity and seized it by betting on a robust digital solution built around the reality of its franchisees.
The challenge was significant: create a unified transactional site while respecting the particularities of each store, offering an experience that is fluid and consistent, but also local and personalized. It was with this in mind that Flordeco brought in Studio Maze Design to entirely rethink its digital ecosystem.

Goals
Offering a hybrid shopping experience that is both consistent and local
The project's goal was to design a unified transactional platform capable of respecting the particularities of each franchised store. The site needed to let customers check the inventory specific to their location, get personalized advice and shop either online or in-store, all while offering a modern, intuitive, high-performing experience across the entire network.

Complexity and challenge
Reconciling a single platform with 35 different local realities
The main technical challenge lay in integrating stock levels by store. Each franchisee manages its own inventory, but customers needed to be able to shop based on the real availability of their preferred location without browsing 35 separate sites. This meant connecting Shopify to Flordeco's internal ERP to dynamically adjust the products displayed based on the selected store, all while managing a vast, technical catalog, flooring, ceramic tile, vinyl and accessories, that demands precise search by style, color, material and durability rating.
Approach
Connecting the platform to the ERP and structuring navigation around real needs
Maze designed a custom Shopify theme reflecting Flordeco's visual world, then built a custom integration with the client's ERP to connect stock availability to each store. Users can select their location right from the start of their browsing session, which dynamically adjusts the products displayed. A smart navigation structure and advanced search engine were then put in place to make it easier to explore a vast, technical catalog, with particular attention paid to the mobile experience.
Solution
A powerful eCommerce site built for a franchisee network
Flordeco now has an eCommerce site on Shopify capable of reflecting the real stock of each of its 35 stores through a custom ERP integration. Customers shop based on the availability of their preferred location, in an interface that combines immersive visuals, information-rich product pages and clear calls to action.
Local teams and head office were trained on using Shopify, both operationally and for marketing, with built-in tools to make it easier to manage banners, promotions and content specific to each store. The result is a scalable, forward-looking platform, an essential lever to support the network's expansion.

Results
A digital infrastructure ready to support the network's growth
Flordeco now has a digital infrastructure capable of keeping pace with its network of more than 35 franchisees. The ERP integration and custom Shopify theme give every location the tools to deliver a local, consistent experience, while trained teams can manage their content independently. The platform is now a genuine growth lever rather than a technical constraint.
