Brief
Modernizing a Montreal florist held back by its platform
Pourquoi pas Fleurs, a well-established Montreal florist, wanted to modernize its transactional site to offer a smoother, higher-performing online shopping experience. Facing the limitations of Prestashop, the brand entrusted us with a full migration to Shopify, with the goal of simplifying internal management, optimizing the buying journey and improving the customer experience. This redesign also aimed to introduce a refreshed design, better aligned with Pourquoi pas Fleurs' elegant, local image.
Goals
Simplifying both flower buying and internal management
The project's goal was to migrate Pourquoi pas Fleurs from Prestashop to Shopify to offer a smoother, higher-performing online shopping experience. It meant simplifying internal catalog management, optimizing the buying journey and introducing a refreshed design, better aligned with the brand's elegant, local image.

Complexity and challenge
Structuring the purchase around occasions, not just products
Unlike a typical business, buying flowers is almost always driven by a specific occasion, a wedding, a funeral, a birthday, rather than a randomly chosen product. The challenge was to rethink navigation around this reality, while integrating features specific to flower delivery like date selection and personalized messages, without complicating the ordering process.
Approach
Migrating, then rethinking navigation around occasions
Maze carried out a custom migration from Prestashop to Shopify, ensuring the full transfer of products, collections and orders. The UX/UI architecture was then redesigned to make it easier to search by occasion and improve the mobile experience, with particular focus on speed of execution and simplicity of the checkout steps.
Solution
A fast site, organized by occasion and ready for delivery
Pourquoi pas Fleurs now has a higher-performing Shopify site, organized around buying occasions rather than a generic catalog. Date selection and personalized message features directly support the delivery experience, in a site designed for both customer needs and the in-store team.
Results
A shopping experience redesigned around the customer, not the catalog
Pourquoi pas Fleurs now has simplified internal management and a shopping experience organized around the occasions that actually motivate customers to buy flowers. Date selection and personalized message features support a smoother delivery experience, for customers and the in-store team alike.
